EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT ADDITIONAL SERVICES OFFERED BY DISTROKID; PART 2

Hey guys, this blog is a continuation of the previous one. Today, we will cover the remaining additional services offered by DistroKid - one of the best music distribution platforms. We covered five of these additional services in the previous blog, therefore the sixth service offered by DistroKid relates to;

vi)Artist pages on Spotify & Apple Music

Now, DistroKid just like TuneCore and Cd Baby, ensures that its users have access to their apple music and Spotify's analytic data. Many music artists usually already have access to such data even without the help of DistroKid, however, if you are an upcoming artist and you are relatively new in the music industry, this feature will help you a great deal.

The next service feature that DistroKid offers is referred to as the;

vii)HyperFollow

This service offered by DistroKid enables music artists to increase their online following and promote their music on such platforms. In essence, therefore, what happens is that DistroKid, through this feature, creates unique links that lead to given specific releases on platforms such as Spotify and iHeartRadio. DistroKid offers this service for free, therefore, you do not have to pay any fee to have access to this feature.

The other feature worth noting is the;

viii)YouTube official artist channel

Ideally, every music artist is capable of creating their own YouTube channel without relying on DistroKid. However, DistroKid offers this feature for free and there is no loss you will incur when you use it. Additionally, this feature has in-built features that are very beneficial to artists. It even has links to Apple Music and Spotify’s artist pages.

The other DistroKid feature that you need to note is the;

ix)YouTube Whitelist

This is a feature that many artists would consider signing up for. But even before I explain to you how this feature works, it is important to note that every artists’ scenario is different, and depends on whether they are being represented by a manager or even whether they earn royalties through music platforms such as YouTube.

For example, your band may have a law that prevents people from using your music online for free. However, you may decide that such a rule does not apply to influential plalylister that may attract more fans to your music. YouTube Whitelist, therefore, allows you to exempt particular blogs from YouTube royalty claims. It allows a band to earn royalties through YouTube monetization while giving specific parties the right to perform particularly isolated blogs that use the band’s music when being aired in the given platform(s)

In a nutshell, even though DistroKid has its demerits, it is not in doubt that it still maintains as one of the best music distribution platforms.
